ON A GENOESE LEUDO
Completely rebuilt on the original drawings, Leonidas is now available for charter and private cruises from Costa Smeralda. This magnificent boat has been build in La Maddalena meticulously following the plans of the original Leonidas, a genoese Leudo, a transport vessel dating back to 1985. The Leudi used to sail around the Mediterranean with their load of wine, cheese and wheat. They landed on sandy shores and there were market, in that world still without ports, so every beach was one. It's really different to enter the lagoon between Santa Maria and Budelli islands and anchor on the clear seabed so close to the shore. Or enter Cala Giunco on Lavezzi Island, advancing among giants forms carved in granite. If the absence of a deep keel does not help going upwind, it offers instead the privilege of sailing on the polynesian sea bottom between the Isola Piana and Capo Sperone, east of Bonifacio and on any other transparent low water of the north sardinian archipelago.
