Thursday 5 September 6:30 pm @ L’Esagono, Cala D’Ambra
Marcello Peghin, guitar
Salvatore Maltana, double bass
with guests:
Matteo Pastorino, bass clarinet
Carlo Sezzi drums
The duo Marcello Peghin and Salvatore Maltana have been collaborating for more than thirty years.
For this concert they will propose a series of original compositions that they will play first as a duo and then sharing the stage with two extraordinary musicians and lifelong friends: Matteo Pastorino on bass clarinet, Carlo Sezzi on drums, artistic directors of San Teodoro Jazz and Cala d’Ambra Music Festival.
As often happens, a journey is preceded by a desire to see and get to know other places.
So you think about places to visit, you plot a route and you set off. And this is exactly what the double bass player Salvatore Maltana and the guitarist Marcello Peghin do in this musical journey made of jazz music, folk ballads and pure improvisation.
All their musical frequentations will be reworked with acoustic instruments and electronic grafts thus determining the modern sound of this duo/quartet that delves into music without time or borders…
This event is organized in collaboration with the “Cala d’Ambra Music Festival”, the Cultural Association La Jacia and the Bar l’Esagono.
